Un Manual de Cítara China

El Meian qinpu

Translated into Spanish by Joan M. Vigo
ISBN 978-84-612-5369-2

The Meian qinpu was originally published in 1931 in China by two students of the qin master Wang Binlu, Xu Lisun and Shao Dasu, who edited their teacher's manuscrit. It was so popular that was soon out of print. It was reprinted in 1959, 1971 and 1979 - always in Chinese language. Fredric Lieberman's PhD dissertation (1977) was focused on that book and in 1983 he published 'A Chinese Zither Tutor: the M'ei-a'n ch'in-p'u', a concise and authentic introduction of this fascinating musical tradition to the general reader.

Fredric Lieberman allowed Joan M. Vigo to translate his book into Spanish. The text has been completed with Chinese characters, many poetry anthologies have been reviewed, bibliography has been checked, ...a project three years long.
